Today my business is thriving and I still use the straight forward system that I have developed of the last six years! But is was not always this way...
Back in 2003 I became self employed in my first business, I was broke but somehow I needed a system to run my books. Sage was too expensive, and far more complicated than I needed, but there didn’t seem to be anything else available & certainly not for free.
I resolved to teach myself how to use EXCEL and created a very crude in and out balance sheet which I freely admit did cause a few headaches when it came time to do my first tax return. Over the next three years my business interests expanded as did my spreadsheet skills.
In 2006 I appointed Edward Johns from Maynard Johns Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors and was told “these are some of the best spreadsheets I have come across from a client in over 15 years in business”.
This free download is the result of over 6 years work and has saved me countless hours of time, hundreds if not thousands of pounds and have helped me to create the huge success which I enjoy today. I have built the system in such a way that it is possible to create a copy of the original each year (amend the start date change one key cell) and you have a system you can use year after year. This actually means you have a FREE system which you can use; forever! I could of course sell this system for £30, £40 or even a hundred pounds and it would be worth every penny!
So why give them away for free? Because I wish to give something back to help others avoid the expense, stress and worry I went through all those years ago. Thats why I have decided to give this away for free, starting a business isn't easy and taking the leap of faith to do so should be rewarded!
